Google Responding To The Website Who Lost Most Traffic In The Latest Update
We have seen so much fluctuation in ranking and traffic since March’18. Most of the websites lost almost 50% of the organic traffic and now Google’s John Mueller clarifies the things on what is the reason behind the drop. John added that most of the people saying that they are losing ranking and traffic but the update is the regular update as many of us are considering it as a major update.
According to John, you need to be more natural and specific in terms of making Title, description & H1 tag. Those days are gone where you stuff the keywords in all 3 departments of the website. If you see a huge ranking drop and if you lose the organic traffic, he suggested to have a quality check of the website including technical on page task and off the page too, that is the only way you can improve.
John Muller suggested that as a user perspective you should ask questions to yourself about your own website, if you find the answers then you are on a right track, but if not then seriously you need to take a look into your website. Please refer the link.
For E-commerce Business Owner
John Muller also has the suggestions for the E-commerce website where everyone wants to rank category page or a homepage. It is very hard to rank for the home or a category page as because of the products page that has already a lot of keywords in it. If you over optimize any category page or anything it also will not give you the benefits, so as the e-commerce website owner just follow the Google ranking factors by making natural title, Description and H1 tags and let the Google algorithm decide as they hate keyword stuffing also you can optimize the Products on a regular basis so Google does not confuse about “which page you want to rank for what keywords”.
